AN ISLAMIC BRASS KA'ABAH PADLOCK WITH KEY AND ARABIC INSCRIPTIONS. - A substantial brass ka'abah padlock of elongated rectangular form, retaining its associated key and suspension chains. The lock is decorated throughout with engraved Arabic inscriptions within shaped cartouches, interspersed with geometric ornament and architectural mouldings. One end features the key aperture, while the opposite terminates in a domed finial. The accompanying key is suspended from the body by a chain and fitted with a shaped bow decorated with geometric motifs.
