AN INDIAN FOLK BRONZE FIGURINE OF VISHNU, 18TH OR 19TH CENTURY. - A copper alloy bronze figurine depicting the Hindu deity Vishnu, cast in a folk or regional village style. The deity is shown standing in a frontal pose within a pierced prabhavali aureole topped with a small finial. Vishnu is four-armed, holding the chakra discus in his upper right hand and the shankha conch shell in his upper left. His lower right hand rests on a tall gada mace, while his lower left hand is positioned by his side. He wears a tiered conical crown and a short dhoti. The rectangular plinth base features two small, simplified figures flanking the feet of the deity. The reverse of the piece shows the hollow-cast nature of the base and the finishing typical of regional domestic shrine icons. H: Approximately 12.5cm
