AN ISLAMIC SILVER AND YELLOW AGATE CALLIGRAPHIC SIGNET RING. - An Islamic signet ring featuring a large oval yellow agate cabochon set in a white metal mount. The stone is deeply intaglio-carved with multi-line Arabic calligraphy in a stylized script, typical of talismanic jewellery. The recesses of the carving have been darkened to enhance the legibility of the script. The agate is secured within a bezel setting featuring eight decorative tabs.
