AN ANCIENT EGYPTIAN GRANITE LUG-HANDLED JAR, PREDYNASTIC PERIOD, CIRCA 3500–3100 BC. - An Ancient Egyptian granite lug-handled jar, attributed to the Predynastic Period, circa 3500–3100 BC (Naqada II–III). Carved from a striking coarse-grained pink, cream and black granite, the vessel has a deep cylindrical body with gently rounded shoulders rising to a thick, broad everted rim surrounding the circular mouth.
