A QAJAR EROTIC MINIATURE PAINTING, 19TH CENTURY. - A Qajar erotic miniature painting executed in opaque watercolour and ink on paper, mounted on cardstock. The scene depicts a woman in a white chador, blue bodice, and red skirt in an inverted position, with legs raised and resting against the back of a donkey. The donkey is rendered in tan with a simple saddle. The background features a landscape with rolling green and ochre fields and stylised trees under a banded sky. A vertical architectural element, resembling a pillar, frames the right side of the composition. The artwork is enclosed within a black painted border. The figure exhibits characteristic Qajar period features, including large almond-shaped eyes and joined eyebrows. A line of faint Persian or Arabic calligraphy is present on the upper centre of the card mount. Approximately 20.8 x 13.3cm
