A PAIR OF GILT-STAMPED RED PERSIAN LEATHER QUR'AN COVERS WITH POLYCHROME FILIGREE DOUBLURES. - The exteriors are bound in red Persian leather and feature elaborate gilt-stamped decoration. The design includes a central almond-shaped mandorla or shamsa, four corner spandrels, and a vertical arrangement of teardrop and diamond-shaped medallions, all contained within a rectangular border of stamped cartouches. The interiors, or doublures, are finished in dark brown leather and embellished with intricate leather filigree cut-work at the centre and corners. These medallions are set against a polychrome ground of blue, green, and gold pigments.  Approximately 34 x 20.5cm
