A CONTEMPORARY ISLAMIC CALLIGRAPHIC ROUNDEL FEATURING THE HASBI ALLAH INSCRIPTION, BY RAZWAN BAIG. - This Islamic calligraphic artwork is executed in a circular composition on a buff-coloured paper substrate. The central feature is a large-scale inscription in a vibrant green, broad-stroked script reading Hasbi Allah (Allah is sufficient for me). The strokes of the green letters exhibit a textured, striated finish consistent with the use of a broad-nibbed reed pen or a stiff brush. The background field within the roundel is densely filled with micrographic calligraphy in a contrasting purple ink, likely comprising Quranic verses or prayers. The entire composition is contained within a circular border of matching textured green ink. At the bottom centre of the circular field are two small, highly stylized calligraphic signatures or stamps in purple ink. The artwork is mounted with a wide cream-coloured mat and housed in a stepped, gilt-finished wooden frame under glass. Approximately 65.8 x 62.5cm
