A MAMLUK OR AYYUBID BRONZE GOBLET WITH SILVER-INLAID INTERLACE AND MEDALLION DECORATION, 13TH-14TH CENTURY. - A bronze vessel, likely a goblet or chalice, featuring a wide, flared bowl, a short stem with a central globular knop, and a flat circular foot. The exterior is decorated with relief-cast ornamentation arranged in horizontal registers. The upper rim is bordered by a band of continuous guilloche or interlace. Below this, a narrow register of beaded circles sits above a wider band containing circular medallions, each enclosing a stylized quatrefoil or cross motif. The primary decorative field consists of large arched roundels containing complex interlace and stylized zoomorphic motifs. The base of the bowl is finished with a ring of gadrooned or petal-like fluting. H: Approximately 17.8cm
