AN ISLAMIC SILVER AND AGATE INTAGLIO SEAL RING. - An Islamic intaglio seal ring featuring a central oval translucent agate stone showing natural honey-coloured banding. The stone is deeply incised with calligraphic script arranged in two horizontal registers divided by a central line and flanked by foliate motifs. The stone is secured in a silver rub-over bezel with a vertical gadrooned border. The shank is designed with bifurcated openwork shoulders forming two elongated oval apertures on each side.
