AN ISLAMIC SILVER AND CARNELIAN SWIVEL TALISMANIC RING. - A Middle Eastern swivel ring featuring a double-sided carnelian intaglio set within a silver bezel. The oval stone, likely a Yemeni aqeeq, is mounted on a pivot mechanism allowing the wearer to display either face. One face is hand-engraved with Arabic calligraphy in Nasta'liq script, featuring the name of Allah at the top, followed by the names of the Panj-tan Paak: Muhammad, Ali, Fatima, Hassan, and Hussein. The characters show remnants of a white pigment infill. The reverse face displays a talismanic grid containing esoteric symbols and characters, traditionally used for spiritual protection.
