AN ISLAMIC KHORASAN STYLE SILVER INLAID BRONZE HAND MIRROR. - An Islamic bronze hand mirror featuring silver-inlaid decoration. The mirror is cast and engraved, featuring a T-shaped handle that terminates in two stylized animal heads, likely rams or mountain goats, with detailed facial features and curved horns. A twelve-petaled rosette is positioned at the base of the handle junction, while the stem features a rectangular panel decorated with a running guilloche pattern. The circular reverse of the mirror is densely ornamented with concentric bands. The central medallion depicts a hybrid harpy figure with a human head and avian body, surrounded by scrolling foliate arabesques. This central motif is encircled by a braided rope-work border. The outer circumference is divided into twenty-four radial, wedge-shaped panels containing calligraphic Arabic script in a stylized Kufic or Naskh hand, typically representing benedictory phrases such as glory and prosperity.
