AN OMANI SILVER FILIGREE KHANJAR DAGGER AND SCABBARD, 19TH-20TH CENTURY. - An Omani khanjar consisting of a curved, double-edged steel blade with a prominent central medial ridge and a silver-mounted hilt and scabbard. The hilt is of the Saidi style, entirely encased in silver and decorated with dense filigree wirework, granulation, and repoussé panels featuring geometric and floral motifs, including concentric circles on the pommel and grip. The L-shaped scabbard features matching silverwork, with the upper locket and lower curved section covered in fine silver filigree arranged in geometric registers. The mid-section includes a wide belt attachment band fitted with four silver suspension rings. Two embossed silver plaques on the face of the scabbard depict the national emblem of Oman, consisting of a khanjar superimposed over two crossed swords. The reverse of the scabbard is finished with a leather or textile backing. L: Approximately 30cm
