AN ISLAMIC SILVER AND INSCRIBED AGATE TALISMANIC SIGNET RING. - An Islamic talismanic signet ring constructed from silver. The ring features a large, oval, flat-topped dark red aqeeq stone, also known as carnelian or agate. The stone is hand-engraved with three horizontal lines of stylized Arabic calligraphy surrounded by decorative diacritics and dots. The top line reads Ma sha Allah (As God willed), the middle line reads La quwwata illa bi-llah (There is no power but with God), and the bottom line reads Astaghfirullah (I seek forgiveness from God). The stone is bezel-set within a raised border featuring vertical fluted or gadrooned detailing. The shoulders of the band continue this fluted motif, tapering down to a plain lower shank.
