AN ILLUMINATED QUR'AN MANUSCRIPT LEAF ON VELLUM. MIDDLE EAST OR NORTH AFRICA, CIRCA 18TH-19TH CENTURY. - A single illuminated manuscript leaf on vellum, likely of Middle Eastern or North African origin. The leaf is organised into four distinct panels defined by red and gold border lines. The upper and lower horizontal bands feature monumental, stylised Arabic script executed in gold leaf outlined in black ink, accented with blue and red vocalisation dots. The upper band contains the Basmala. The central portion is divided vertically; the left panel contains approximately twenty-seven lines of dense, small-scale Arabic script in black ink, while the right panel displays larger gold Arabic characters arranged diagonally across the field. Two circular illuminated rosettes, or shamsas, are located on the left side of the horizontal bands, featuring central red and blue floral motifs surrounded by gold and blue geometric patterns.  Approximately 15.5 x 15.5cm
