"Philippe Lejeune, born in 1951, is a distinct figure from another painter sharing his name and active in the 20th century. Presently residing in Los Angeles, he is a French printmaker and painter. His artistic journey began with printmaking studies at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure Des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. It appears that he further honed his craft through an apprenticeship or work as a printer with Blandine and Stephane Lalou, recognized for their collaboration with the renowned Belgian illustrator Jean-Michel Folon in the 1980s, creating color aquatints. Upon relocating to the United States, Lejeune directed his creative energies towards capturing the essence of American cities, primarily New York, while also seeking inspiration from other iconic architectural landmarks. Notably, he has developed a fascination with painting on processed wood planks, utilizing their physicality to underscore their origins. Despite the cerebral nature of his artistic approach, Lejeune's paintings maintain a representational quality reminiscent of his earlier prints."- Invaluable Artist Biography
