A Pair of English Oak and Silver-Toned Metal Barley Twist Candlesticks - A pair of candlesticks featuring turned oak stems in a traditional barley twist or Solomonic column design. The wood components are finished with a dark stain and terminate in circular, stepped bases with recessed centers. The upper sections consist of cast silver-toned metal nozzles, possibly pewter or silver plate, featuring scalloped rims and decorative relief-work on the bobeches. These items exhibit a style consistent with late 19th-century or early 20th-century Jacobean revival decorative arts. No maker marks or hallmarks are visible on the pieces.
