Royal Doulton Bernard Matthews 50th Anniversary Limited Edition Turkey Figurine - A hand painted glazed porcelain figurine of a strutting male turkey produced by Royal Doulton. The bird is modeled in a display pose with fanned tail feathers and lowered wings, set upon a naturalistic base textured to resemble grass and soil. The base features a circular Royal Doulton lion and crown factory mark, the registered trademark name, and a small black top hat symbol. Underglaze text reads: SPECIALLY COMMISSIONED BY BERNARD MATTHEWS TO COMMEMORATE 50 YEARS IN THE TURKEY BUSINESS IN THE YEAR 2000. The piece is hand numbered in green ink as 2641 of a special edition of 3,000 and carries a 1999 Royal Doulton copyright mark. A rectangular white adhesive inspection label from Royal Doulton is also present on the base.
