The camera body is constructed of metal with a black finish and textured synthetic grip panels. The front of the prism housing is marked PETRI in white lettering. The model designation GX-4 is located on the front left of the camera body. A circular red emblem containing three vertical bars is positioned on the front panel. The camera is fitted with a Petri lens featuring an aperture ring with settings for f/1.7, 2, 2.8, 4, 5.6, 8, 11, and 16. The lens is covered by a black plastic front cap with a textured center. The camera is attached to a black synthetic strap. A padded grey and beige camera bag is included.
