Japanese Imari Porcelain Scalloped Plate Meiji Period - This Japanese porcelain plate is executed in the traditional Imari Kinrande palette, featuring underglaze blue, overglaze iron red enamel, and hand-painted gilding. The plate has a lobed or scalloped rim. The central circular medallion is decorated with three fan motifs and floral sprays. Radiating from the center are eight panels: four panels depicting bamboo stalks and leaves in iron red and gold, alternating with four panels of dense chrysanthemum blossoms in red and gold against a deep underglaze blue ground. The underside is decorated with three stylized floral sprigs in underglaze blue. The base features two concentric circles in underglaze blue enclosing a single hand-painted cursive fuku or good fortune mark.
