UK 1981 PHQ Card Collection, Fishing Industry SG 1166-1169, First Day Cancels - A collection of official UK Royal Mail Post Office Picture Cards (PHQ cards) issued in 1981. The assortment includes a complete set of four cards for the Fishing Industry issue (PHQ 53), which reproduce the designs of Stanley Gibbons catalog numbers SG 1166, 1167, 1168, and 1169. The reverse of these cards bears a Manchester First Day of Issue circular date stamp (CDS) dated September 23, 1981. These cards were printed by The House of Questa, London, from designs by Peter Gauld. The collection also includes two cards from the July 1981 Royal Wedding issue (PHQ 51), reproducing the SG 1160 14p and SG 1161 25p stamp designs. Additionally, there are two cards reproducing the 25p St Kilda, Scotland design from the National Trust set (SG 1152, PHQ 50). Each card features the stamp artwork with simulated perforations and a Machin head silhouette on cream card stock. 148 mm x 105 mm per card.
