The piece is decorated with an applied relief band of stylized foliate scrolls finished in an ochre-brown glaze and accented with small cobalt blue dots. The base is encircled by a molded band of acanthus-style leaves finished in a deep cobalt blue glaze. The body features a mottled olive-tan and light green ground, while the lid and rim show a dark brown iron-wash glaze. The underside bears an impressed circular mark for Doulton Lambeth England, an incised pattern number 9652, and the impressed artist initials eb.
