A Pair of Ornate Silver-Tone and Mirrored Glass Jewelry Boxes - This lot consists of a pair of matching rectangular jewelry or trinket boxes designed in a Rococo-revival style. Each box is topped with a hinged lid featuring heavy casting of acanthus leaf scrolls and a central foliate finial. The bodies of the boxes incorporate continuous beaded borders above and below four inset panels. The panels are made of antiqued mirrored glass with a gold-tone printed or etched scrolling foliate and floral design. Each box rests on four elaborate scroll-and-leaf-motif feet. The metal has a silver-tone finish with darkening in the recesses to highlight the cast details. No maker marks, hallmarks, or labels are visible on either piece. The material appears to be a silver-tone plated or cast base metal alloy with glass insets.
