We are offering a huge selection of antique prints and engravings from 17th-20th centuries.


Subjects included are natural history, architecture & designs, caricatures & humour, classical (including Egyptology), religious & historical, famous buildings and views, maps, sporting events, royal and historical portraits.


We particularly feature ornithological prints by John Gould, Jacques Barraband, Conrad Susemihl, Beverly Morris, FN Martinet, Cornelius Nozeman, Peter Mazell, William Swainson, Prideaux J Selby, William Lewin, Jean-Baptiste Audebert, Robert Gillmor and Edward Lear.


Other notable artists are JJ & JW Audubon, Rev. Houghton, Josiah Whymper, Archibald Thorburn, George Sowerby, John Frederick Miller, George Edwards, Moses Harris, Edward Donovan and HN Humphreys.

This hand-coloured engraving is from Voyage autour du monde, execute par ordre du Roi, sur la corvette de Sa Majeste, la Coquille, pendant les ann?es 1822, 1823, 1824 et 1825.. by Louis-Isidore Duperrey, published by Arthus Bertrand, Paris 1826. An original hand-coloured engraving drawn by Lejeune and Chazal and engraved by Ambroise Tardieu printed by Remond. The voyage, led by Duperrey, concentrated on the exploration of the Pacific. Rene Lesson was the naturalist on the voyage. The Pacific islands visited were the Tuamotu Archipelago, Tahiti and the Society Islands, Tonga, Rotuma, the Gilbert and Caroline Islands and the Bismarck Archipelago. Australia was visited twice and also explorations made of New Zealand. Size: 17" x 11" (43cm x 28cm)
Condition: The print is in excellent condition but please inspect the image carefully for any occasional age related marks.
