17th century Science book. 1641 Athenasius Kircher "Magnes.sive de Arte Magnetica, 1st edition, 36 full page engraved plates, including frontispiece and illustrated title page, and some 27+ woodblock illustrations from the text block. With incidental decals applied. In a 19th century marbled card binding. A bit beaten. The main body of the text is absent, but these very rare early diagrams on magnetism and electromagnetics. Quite likely his most famous work. 2nd edition illustrations were redrawn and printed, with these being his own originals.
