A 1914/15 Trio, consisting of the 1914/15 Star, British War Medal and Victory Medal, all named to 3686 Pte J P Farrell R Scots. Joseph Patrick Farrell served with
the First Battalion R Scots on the Western Front until November 1915 when the battalion transferred to Salonika. Farrell appears to have transferred with other
members of 1/ R Scots to the 1 st Battalion of the N Staffordshire Regiment at some
point before this and served with them on the Western Front until the end of the war
as part of 72 Brigade in 24 Division, including the Battle of the Somme, where the battalion suffered over 500 casualties, and the Third Battle of Ypres
(Passchendaele). With copy MIC and Mounted for display with old contemporary silk ribbons.
Extremely Fine (EF) condition.
