Around 200 such Battalions were formed by 21 Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Belarusian, Tatar, and Ukrainian Schuma Battalions. These were extensively used in Anti-Partisan warfare for the Germans. Many were tried for serious War crimes after the War.
