Thanh Le refers to the celebrated Thanh Le lacquer workshop founded by artisan Nguyen Van Le in the mid-1950s in Binh Duong province. From 1945 to 1975, Thanh Le became the most prestigious lacquer brand in Southern Vietnam, exporting high-value works to European markets and gathering many of the region's finest lacquer artisans. Pieces bearing the Thanh Le signature are highly sought after at international auctions today. Purchased at auction.
