Portrait by To Ngoc Van, 37x51 cm, Pencil on paper. To Ngoc Van (1906–1954) was one of the pioneering masters of modern Vietnamese oil painting, a graduate and later professor at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de l'Indochine. His iconic ”Young Lady with Lily” (1943) is a landmark of Vietnamese modern art, and his ”Two Women and Baby” was designated a Vietnamese National Treasure in 2013. He died during the Dien Bien Phu campaign in 1954 while serving as director of the Resistance Class. This item is held at Cadmore ASIAN Office in Vietnam and will be shipped from there.
