”Folk Scene” by Mai Long, 27x36 cm, Ink and color on silk. Mai Long (born 1930) is a Vietnamese silk painter and illustrator, a graduate of the Resistance Class of the Vietnam Fine Arts College. He is regarded as one of the few living old masters of Vietnamese silk painting, celebrated for his lyrical depictions of Vietnamese folklore, women, and highland scenes. His works are held at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum, the Eastern Nation Arts Museum in Moscow, the Penza Fine Arts Museum, and the Asia-Pacific Museum.
