Bui Tuan Thanh (born 7 November 1941 in Hanoi) is a Vietnamese lacquer artist and one of the first graduates of the Hanoi University of Industrial Fine Arts, who returned after graduating to work in Hanoi's traditional lacquer cooperatives. He is known for lacquer works depicting Vietnamese daily life and nature, and for his role as a mentor to a generation of celebrated younger lacquer painters, including Bui Huu Hung and Tran Tuan Long.
