The Veiled Woman by Violet Tweedale published by Herbert Jenkins, London, 1918. First Edition hardback approx 13cm x 19cm. Violet Tweedale nee Chambers (1862-1936) was a Scottish author, poet, spiritualist and keen golfer! She was the eldest daughter of Robert Chambers Jnr., editor of Chamber's Review and granddaughter of Robert Chambers, publisher and founder of W & R Chambers. This is a really nicely bound scarce book in full red leather with raised bands, gilt lettering and gilt page edges on top. The book shows just the lightest signs of age / wear (see photographs) and is in very good condition really nice book, cannot find exact one to compare but should easily retail at over £100 I would think.
