Volumes 1, 2, 3 and 6 of Bibliotheca Chethamensis (Catalogues of Books and Manuscripts) for the Chetham Library in Manchester comprising Volume 1 published in 1791, at one stage this book was presented by Professor T W Manson (1893 1958) of Victoria University in Manchester (his papers were donated to The John Rylands Library, Manchester following his death) and this book was owned by the Wesleyan Theological Institution Didsbury Library (see photographs), Volume 2 also published in 1791 and on 17th February 1898 this book was presented by Rev Thos Loxham M A and has Chetham Library Stamps (see photographs), Volume 3 published in 1826 and on 17th February 1898 this book was presented by Rev Thos Loxham M A and has Chetham Library Stamps (see photographs) and Volume 6 published in 1883. Chetham Library in Manchester is the old free public reference library in the English speaking world having been established in 1653 and was the meeting place for Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels in the summer of 1845. All four hardback volumes are in overall fair condition. Volume 1 is missing the spine cover and all four show varying signs of age wear (see photographs).
