The Star 1888 - Our Jubilee Week 1938. 'The Star - 50 Years Old today' January 12th, 1938. 16 pages. 8½" x 11½". Notable in containing articles by H.G. Wells entitled 'Everyday Life in 1988'. A guess by H.G. Wells containing a 3000 word article. Also an article by G.B Shaw entitled 'When we were very young'. G.B. Shaw writes of his early days on 'The Star'. Also contains a poem by T.S. Elliott entitled '1888-1938'. This newspaper also contains a small supplement called 'The Romance of The Star 1888'. Containing many photographs of their machinery and the printing of the newspaper. 16 pages. 5½" x 8". Excellent condition. Now RARE. From single vendor Book and Magazine collection.
