Great War Luftwaffe pilots multiple signed Rossbach RAF cover 1. RAF Biggin Hill cover signed by WW1 veterans Hans Von Hippel, Lt Joseph Jacobs, Gerhard Hubrich. Also signed by WW2 ace Gen Adolf Galland KC. Number 6 in the 100 cover Rossbach series with info and photos inside the cover and biographies printed on back in German. Hans Joachim Theodor Gottlieb von Hippel was born on 12th September 1893 in Berlin, the second child of Prussian General Conrad von Hippel and his wife Else von Hippel. He joined Jagdstaffel 5 (fighter squadron) in 1917 at Boistrancourt in northern France, having earlier transferred from field artillery to the Luftstreitkräfte, the Imperial German Air Service. Although a relatively successful fighter pilot during the last years of the First World War, von Hippel was also an enthusiastic photographer and documented the pilots and aircraft from his time in Jagdstaffeln 5 and 71. At the time, German pilots could paint their aircraft to their own taste and the prominent lightning bolt Blitz motif became most associated with von Hippel.Josef Carl Peter Jacobs (15 May 1894 - 29 July 1978) PlM, was a German flying ace with 48 victories during the First World War. The victory total of the prewar flier tied him with Werner Voss for fourth place among the war's German aces. His skill in aerial warfare brought him squadron and wing level commands. By war's end, he was the leading ace flying the Fokker Triplane. Gerhard 'Kuken' Hubrich was an 12 victory ace in WW I flying with the Seefrontstaffel en IV Marine Feldjasta. During World War II he became a major in the Luftwaffe and seems to have got 2 more victories. Good condition. All autographs are genuine hand signed and come with a Certificate of Authenticity. We combine postage on multiple winning lots and can ship worldwide. UK postage from £5.99, EU from £7.99, Rest of World from £10
