Luftwaffe Rossbach WW2 multiple signed cover 3 SC 34 BEAUFIGHTER signed by Mjr Werner Schroer, Victor von Lossberg, Mjr Dieter Peltz, Lt Rudolf Nacke, Obst Joachim Helbig, from Hans Rossbach Luftwaffe aviation cover series. Limited edition of 100 covers, with photos and info inside. Names and career info printed on back of cover in German. Werner Schroer (12 February 1918 - 10 February 1985) was a German World War II fighter ace credited with shooting down 114 enemy aircraft. He served in the Luftwaffe from 1937, initially as a member of the ground staff, until the end of World War II in Europe on 8 May 1945, by which time he had reached the highest ranks of combat leadership.[2] Schroer was the second most successful claimant of air victories after Hans-Joachim Marseille in the Mediterranean, and was decorated with the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords. Viktor von Lossberg (14 March 1904 - 24 May 1983) was a German air officer during World War II. He was a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross of Nazi Germany. Lossberg was instrumental in conceiving the concept of Zahme Sau ("Tame boar"), a night fighter tactic of the Luftwaffe. Dietrich Peltz (9 June 1914 - 10 August 2001) was a German World War II Luftwaffe bomber pilot and youngest general of the Wehrmacht. As a pilot he flew approximately 320 combat missions, including roughly 130 as a bomber pilot on the Eastern Front, 90 as a bomber pilot on the Western Front, and 102 as a dive bomber pilot during the invasion of Poland and Battle of France. Rudolf Nacke Kc Awarded for his total of about 130 sorties flown. In this time he particularly distinguished himself on a couple of occasions. He participated in a raid on Rennes railway station, which was overflowing with trains. Over 500 freight cars were destroyed in the attack, with the railcard itself also taking heavy damaged. Nacke was also involved in a number of pinpoint operations against England due to his experience. On one of these he destroyed a shipyard near Hastings with several direct hits. Joachim Helbig (10 September 1915 - 5 October 1985) was a German bomber pilot during World War II. He joined the Luftwaffe in 1936 and served almost all of his career with Demonstration Wing 1 (Lehrgeschwader 1 (LG 1)). With his unit, he participated in the Invasion of Poland, the Norwegian Campaign, the Battles of the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Britain in 1939-40. For his contributions in these campaigns, Helbig received the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross in late 1940. He was then transferred to the Mediterranean theatre where he bombed Malta, the British Mediterranean Fleet and flew in support of the Afrika Korps. Helbig received the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords in late 1942 for the support of Field Marshal Erwin Rommel's 1942 summer offensive. He was then banned from further combat flying and was assigned to the staff of the General of Bombers, the senior officer responsible for the Luftwaffe's bomber force. In August 1943 the ban was revoked and Helbig was appointed commander of LG 1 which was then operating against the Allied forces in Italy. In June 1944, he and LG 1 were transferred to France after the Invasion of Normandy. In early 1945, LG 1 was transferred to the Eastern Front and Helbig was tasked to destroy the bridges over the Oder. He surrendered to the American forces at the end of the war in May.
