WW2 Bergen Incident multiple 617 sqn signed print by Keith Aspinall. On the 12 Jan 1945 during a raid on German Naval facilities at Bergen Lancaster KC-M of 617 Squadron was severely disabled by repeated attacks by FW 190's. After 3 crew members had bailed out Sqn Ldr Iveson and his remaining crew became aware of a FW 190 flying close to them to their starboard wing. The German pilot was indicating that they should follow him down to land at a nearby base, following which the fighter accelerated away and was not seen again. Sqn Ldr Iveson eventually landed the Lancaster at RAF Sumburgh on the Shetland Islands and was awarded the DFC for his exploits. Good Condition.
