Flown in VC 10 of No 101 Sqn from RAF Brize Norton to Tenerife to Ascension Island to Montevideo - Mount Pleasant. Black Buck 1 (30 April/1 May 1982) Falklands Vulcan Bomb Raid. Personally Signed by Wg Cdr A C Montgomery Commanded the Vulcan detachment in the South Atlantic in 1982, As acting Squadron Commander A C Montgomery and his crew were first to deploy to Ascension Island where he commanded. Was the Captain ( Pilot) of Vulcan Xm 607 who flew all three bomber raids against Port Stanley in May and June 1982. He Disbanded 44 ( Rhodesia) Squadron, the last V - Force Bomber Squadron. Signed by Group Captain Alan Bowman MBE Victor Detachment Commander Ascension Island 1982 on Operation Black Buck. Also Signed by Group Captain Jeremy Price CBE Senior RAF Officer Ascension Island 1982. Leading the Marham detachment on Ascension Island is the Station Commander, Group Captain Jeremy Price.
