Bidspirit auction | Zeppelin LZ129 Hindenberg survivor Theo

Zeppelin LZ129 Hindenberg survivor Theo Ritter signed Great War cover Zeppelin Raids on Britain. Ritter was an engine mechanic aboard the Hindenburg on its first North American flight of 1937, assigned to engine gondola #4, portside forward. As Ritter would later write, ”The ground is coming up at us damned fast, and one of my comrades says something like ”Bail out!” But the gondola crashes into the ground and I think to myself, ”I'm dead. This is it.” Fire swirls around my eyes, and the impact causes me to lose my footing. I fly in an arc over the engine and out into the propeller, which hits me on the head. Good condition.
