1915 R34 Rigger W.W. Ballantyne signed cover RAFM HA15 Major G. H. Scott. WW1 RNAS R34 Airship WW2 W W Ballantyne. He joined the Royal Naval Air Service in 1915 and worked as a rigger on many airships including the R34 so famous for its double flight across the Atlantic with Major G H Scott as the Captain. When told he could not fly on the Atlantic crossing attempt, he stowed away with a cat and when the airship landed in New York he became a star overnight and fortunately was not court martialled. Ballantyne also served during WW2. Signed on a Major G H Scott RAFM HA15 Historic cover 1977, flown in a balloon and then dropped by parachute. Good condition Est.
