WW2 Escaping Society Pat Cheramy. Taffy Higginson signed 1979 Pat O'Leary. RAF Escape series cover. Pat Cheramy was a French resistance fighter who was arrested in 1943 when working for the Pat O'Leary escape line. She was tortured by the Germans and imprisoned at Ravensbruck Camp for the remainder of the war. Wing Commander Frederick 'Taffy' Higginson flew with 56 Squadron during the Battle of Britain veteran. He was shot down over Lille in 1941 by which time he had recorded a tally of 15 victories. The Pat O'Leary Line was part of the resistance organisation in France during WWII. Allied soldiers were hidden from the Germans. given false identity papers and travelled to Marseille where the line was based. From there they were escorted to neutral Spain where British diplomats sent the escapees home from British-controlled Gibraltar. Good condition. Part of Single Vendor collection.
