Royal Navy Lt Cdr T.J. Lewis signed HMS Grimsby comm the commissioning of the Single Role Minehunter at Grimsby 25 Sept 199 Naval FDC. RNC series 5 No.37, only 105 issued. Lieutenant Commander T. J. Lewis was appointed as the Commanding Officer of the Sandown-class minehunter HMS Grimsby on December 1, 1998. HMS Grimsby (M108) was built by Vosper Thornycroft and launched in August 1998. Lt Cdr Lewis took command just months after her launch, making him one of her very first operational captains. The Squadron: Under his leadership, the glass-reinforced plastic (GRP) vessel operated as part of Mine Counter Measures Squadron 1 (MCM1), based at HMNB Clyde (Faslane) in Scotland.
