Kirkcaldy Burgh Police Group Portrait Albumen Print, May 1883 - A framed albumen print group portrait of the Kirkcaldy Burgh Police force, dated May 1883. The photograph depicts nineteen members of the force, with eighteen officers in full uniform and one central figure in civilian or senior officer attire, posed in front of a stone masonry building. The print is mounted on a heavy cream-colored card with a printed label at the base reading exactly KIRKCALDY BURGH POLICE, MAY 1883. The work is housed in a period ornate gilded composition frame featuring a scrolling foliate relief pattern. The reverse retains wooden backing boards behind a degraded brown paper covering.
