A Pair of Carved Banded Onyx Horse Head Bookends - A pair of decorative bookends hand-carved from natural banded onyx. Each piece is fashioned from a single block of translucent stone characterized by horizontal bands of cream and pale green. The stylized horse heads feature carved manes and ears, while the integral bases show more pronounced orange and ochre veining from natural iron oxide. The smooth, polished surfaces are interrupted only by natural geological variations. No manufacturer marks, labels, or country-of-origin stamps are present on either piece.
