19th Century Aesthetic Movement Mahogany and Brass Umbrella Stand - A late 19th-century Aesthetic Movement mahogany umbrella and stick stand featuring decorative ceramic tiles. The stand is constructed from mahogany with an upright back and scrolled side supports. A central paneled column leads down to a recessed base which houses a removable dark-finished metal drip tray. A horizontal brass rail is held in place by two perpendicular rods attached to the back panel. The back is inset with three ceramic tiles decorated with yellow lilies and a central classical urn, surmounted by a gilt-metal wreath and ribbon cresting. The lower panel displays two brass fan-shaped corner plates and a small arched brass plaque that reads ”RD 187032”. The reverse reveals a combination of finished mahogany and rough-hewn secondary wood paneling secured with small nails. No maker names or signatures are visible. The design registration number RD 187032 indicates a piece manufactured or registered in the United Kingdom in the year 1892. Many notable British foundries—such as Coalbrookdale, Carron Company, or Archibald Kenrick & Sons used this system to protect their designs
