A Group of Leather and Lacquered Decorative Storage Boxes - A nineteenth-century style leather correspondence box featuring a domed lid and tiered interior. The correspondence box is constructed with a slanted front and a leather-clad exterior. The surface is decorated with gold foliate and Greek key borders. The interior is lined with a tan moiré fabric and contains three tiered compartments for stationery. No maker marks are visible on the exterior or interior surfaces. The group also includes a cylindrical wooden box with a slightly domed lid. The exterior features a distressed red and gold painted finish with foliate motifs, while the interior is finished in black paint. A small hand-carved wooden trinket box is also present, featuring floral relief carvings and an inlaid white star motif on the lid. The interior is lined with blue fabric. The underside of the carved wooden box bears a white circular adhesive label printed with a blue border reading MADE IN INDIA and red text reading HAND CARVED.
