Midwinter Staffordshire Semi-Porcelain Brama Pattern Biscuit Barrel and Cake Stand - Two pieces of Midwinter Staffordshire semi-porcelain tableware decorated in the Brama chintz pattern. The lot comprises a square-bodied biscuit barrel and a circular cake stand or tazza. The biscuit barrel is constructed with a pedestal base featuring four integral feet and is fitted with a chrome-plated metal rim, a matching swing handle, and a metal lid topped with a cream-colored plastic or composition finial. The cake stand consists of a ceramic plate mounted atop a chrome-plated metal base cast in the form of a stylized, athletic female figure in a gymnastic pose. Both pieces are decorated with a Chinoiserie-style transfer print of exotic birds, including parrots and kingfishers, perched among flowering branches with pink, yellow, and blue blossoms against a stippled background. The base of the biscuit barrel and the underside of the plate both feature a printed brown mark reading BRAMA above a crown, followed by MIDWINTER / ENGLAND / STAFFORDSHIRE / SEMI-PORCELAIN. The biscuit barrel also bears an impressed number 12.
