1945 Adie Brothers Ltd. Sterling Silver Whisky Decanter Label - A sterling silver decanter label for Whisky, featuring an ornate foliate and shell border. Weight The label is of rectangular form with a slightly curved profile, suspended from a delicate curb link chain. The central field is machine-engraved with the word WHISKY in block letters, characterized by horizontal hatching within the letterforms. The decorative border is executed in repoussé and chased work, depicting a symmetrical arrangement of C-scrolls and stylized scallop shells. The reverse of the label shows the corresponding indentations from the decorative work and a matte finish. Several hallmarks are struck to the lower center of the front face: a rectangular maker's mark reading A M & Co, a Birmingham assay office anchor, a lion passant indicating .925 sterling silver, and a date letter V in a shield corresponding to the year 1945.
