Scottish Isle of Skye Studio Pottery Stoneware Charger - A large presentation charger crafted from high-fired stoneware. The presentation plate features a wide, flat rim and a recessed central well. The unglazed buff-colored clay body is visible on the rim and the reverse, displaying concentric rings from the throwing process. The central well is decorated with a landscape scene depicting bog cotton blowing in the wind against a large, spiraled moon or sun motif. The botanical arrangement utilizes multiple techniques including white slip trailing for the plant heads, sgraffito for the stems, and varied glazes in earth tones of brown, tan, and olive green, accented by small circular applications of yellow glaze. The reverse is impressed near the foot rim with a two-line stamp reading MADE IN SCOTLAND, accompanied by a small circular potter signet that is not legible as a specific name.
