Bidspirit auction | Spanish Puigdemont Earthenware Fish Charger

Spanish Puigdemont Earthenware Fish Charger - A circular earthenware charger or wall plaque featuring a dark navy blue gloss glaze and hand-painted aquatic motifs. The charger is constructed from reddish-brown clay, which is visible on the unglazed foot rim and the outer edge of the plate. The central composition depicts two whimsical fish in yellow, green, and brown tones, accompanied by stylized seaweed, a yellow five-pointed star, and trailing white bubbles. The decoration is applied with a textured, impasto-like quality over the dark base glaze. The reverse features a raised foot rim with two pre-drilled holes for wall mounting, currently threaded with a piece of string. An incised signature is present within the foot rim, where the name Vince is clearly legible in cursive script above a stylized, fluid letter M. The underside shows significant glaze crawling and uneven application where the clay body is exposed. Diameter: Approximately 11 to 12 inches.
