Arts and Crafts Glasgow School Copper and Brass Coal Box - An Arts and Crafts coal box crafted from hand-hammered copper and brass. 42cm diameter . 45cm tall The vessel features a hexagonal form constructed with mixed metal panels joined by exposed rivets. The side panels are decorated in the Glasgow School style with repoussé floral motifs depicting stylized tulips on elongated stems. It stands on three flared brass feet and is fitted with two cast brass handles featuring foliate terminals. The heavy lid is composed of a central brass finial shaped like an opening seed pod, set against a raised copper foliate ground and surrounded by a hammered brass border. The interior retains its original wooden base insert. No maker names, signatures, or hallmarks are visible on the interior or exterior surfaces.
